This city is known for its creative culture, live music scene, outdoor activities and booming tech industry. Del, Apple, Google, and Tesla are some of the giants located in Austin.
UT Austin houses 19 Colleges and Schools, offering 12,400 courses in 170 fields of study. UT Austin is BIG. Students apply directly to a major…. and it can be tricky to transfer majors. Professors are actively conducting research, and students find research opportunities relatively accessible. There is even a search engine for students to search research opportunities by topic or academic area.

Study abroad is available in 72 countries, with semester, 2, 4, or 8 week, and Maymester sessions. Scholarships are available for study abroad and students will never pay more than their regular tuition for an opportunity to spend time in another country.
UT Austin gets students involved. The new student union location was decided on by students, designed by Architecture students, furnished by Design students and is a central hub on campus for all.
Tip 1: Apply for housing as soon as you apply for admission. Freshman housing is not guaranteed, but there are private apartments nearby housing Texas students.
Tip 2: Your resume should show fit to major. What have you done that makes you a good candidate for the major of your choice?
UT Austin’s motto, “What starts here changes the world,” sums up its commitment to creating positive change.
